Sega will install eight units of a new bobsliding game, called ”Storm-G“ in their amusment park Joypolis in Tokyo. Two people can seat in one unit, which seats can spin around 360° on one axis. The Game is some kind of fastspeed bobsliding in the future with excellent graphics. (more…)

Sometimes the world isnt hedgehogfriendly.

Sega’s Japanes main branch announced, that it will close 110 of its 450 arcades, lay off 18 percent of it stuffs and cancel some games. The reason for these steps are an annual loss of 25 billion yen (about $238 million) during the fiscal year.

Jaleco Holdings is leaving the industry. As of January 15, 2009, the company transferred 100 percent of ownership in subsidiary Jaleco, best known for Bases Loaded, P-47 and Irritating Stick, to an online game company GAME YAROU. (more…)

Now, before people get ahead of themselves; SEGA are making a new mecha versus arcade game. Specifically one that is fully online that supports up to 20 players (10 a side). It’s also being handled by SEGA AM2 and will most probably be on Lindbergh hardware (though the latter is an assumption on my part). (more…)
